Sudhakar is emerging as a leader in his Community

Sudhakar Laluji Rathod, a 23 year old youth, hails from Pittiguda village in Maharastra. His village is located in one of the most backward regions of Chandrapur district, and faces an acute scarcity of drinking water.

Sudhakar is one of the first batch of Community Sports Coaches trained by Magic Bus to deliver weekly Sports for Development sessions to the children in his village. After completing his training, Sudhakar has been using Sport as the enabler for development of his village. After conducting an informal needs assessment in his village, Sudhakar realized that water shortage is the greatest problem being faced by his community. In his weekly sports sessions, Sudhakar uses play activities to educate children on the importance of reducing water wastage. He has also taken on the task of mobilizing the villagers to advocate with the government for installing more water taps in his village.
